My latest acquisition:The complete "Hornblower" collection, by C. S. Forester. It details the heroic deeds of that fabulous sea captain and naval officer of His Majesty's Navy, Horatio Hornblower, principally during the late 17's and early 1800's.
This riveting series was the source of the award-winning 1998-2003 British miniseries by the same name, starring Ioan Gruffudd and Robert Lindsay. However, the TV series only covered the first few books, and dear Horatio goes on to live a long and prosperous life beyond that. Anybody interested? Here's where you can get the books:
