Finished Gown

Here's the dress I made for Dove:
Italian pure silk, really soapy-slipperyish, delicate and fine. Tricky to work with, but rewarding to see the results.

Some details of the finishing of the hem, and inside back seam:

The zipper seam: so beautiful! Took about seven reinstallations before I finally got it right.

 Close-up of the zipper seam:

 Adjustable shoulder straps:

Inside chest lining:

All the inside seams were finished with the "French seam" trick, so no little strings can come out. The seams lie quite flat after steam-ironing on the inside.

Inside back lining. A bit tricky -- took me 4 hours to set them!

See how the cloth shimmers in the light!
